A great video by the BS (Building Science) and Beer youtube channel about building an improved energy performance house – not going all the way for the stringent Passive House standard, but rather what they describe as a “pretty good house”. The host Mike Maines describes the basics of this approach to building and architect […]
Our customer John from Maine has been sharing progress pictures as he sets up his WarmFörm slab on the Maine island that he makes home. This is a great sequence and you can easily see how the parts go together. As of today they have finished setting up their WarmFörm and are ready for their […]
This unusual earthwork tool, here fitted to a tilting rotating excavator head, is common for quickly smoothing stone beds used under WarmFörm type frost protected shallow foundations in Sweden. This particular photo is a driveway bed, but the same earthwork tools are used for fast prep of stone base beds for houses. So if you […]
Our Colorado customer’s has has topped out and finishes and cladding will begin to be installed now. See the garage above and the WarmForm slab foundation on its beautiful wooded site outside Denver.

Its worth noting the 4″ step down to the garage forms you can see in the photo. They’ve done this to depress the garage slab from the house slab which was […]
One of our customers houses is featured this month in the trade magazine Builder. In an article by Symone Garvett she describes how the architects at design firm Architectural Resource used WarmFörm to save money on foundation construction, and start the house out on the right energy efficient foot.
An article in the April 2020 issue of Dwell by Grace Miller features a contemporary home built in upstate NY using the WarmFörm foundation system. The architect of this home returned to specify WarmFörm on a second project the following year – one of our earliest repeat specifiers.
The June/July 2020 issue of Fine Home Building magazine (#291) had an article giving general advice on how to achieve what has been called a “Pretty Good House” – which amounts to adopting better building practices in support of better energy performance without adhering to stricter formalized evaluation criteria such as Passive House or Zero […]
